User Security Enhancements
RCT’s security has been updated to use CoreLogic’s CLAuth enterprise service.
Benefits
There are several benefits that come from the changes to user management tooling, which include:
One login for many CoreLogic products.
Signing into CoreLogic applications is now easier. Users can use a single username and password to access solutions that utilize CLAuth across the Corelogic landscape.
Increased resiliency.
With a best in class tech stack, highly available infrastructure, and enterprise resource support, RCT is more secure and resilient than ever.
Changes
The following application changes have been made to accommodate the changes in user management tooling.
Self-onboarding for existing users.
RCT 4.7 now uses email addresses for usernames. All existing user accounts must be converted. Users who have not been migrated during the upgrade to 4.7 must update their existing account via the self-onboarding tool. Instructions can be found in the help content.
Password reset change.
Passwords are now updated via the CoreLogic password reset page. Password updates have been removed from the RCT application.
Organization selection for multi-organization users.
Users that use the same email address for more than one organization will be able to select the organization they wish to view during the login process. Users that only have one organization will automatically be logged into their organization.
Removed
The following features related to login have been removed from RCT Express 4.7.
Organization Specific Information on Login Page.
Organization specific logos and phrases will no longer be available on the login page. Logos will still be available on organization specific pages.
Valuation/Policy Search
Valuation search now allows users to enter terms in any order. All terms are treated as a whole word match except for the last term (which can be a partial match).
CLIP ID Inclusion
Corelogic is now providing the CoreLogic Integrated Property number (CLIP) within RCT. CLIP is composed of a random 10-digit integer. This unique identifier conjoins the most current and complete universe of all real properties within CoreLogic data assets. Since a CLIP number is intended to be a unique identifier for real property, it is important to understand how “real property” is defined. A real property must have an owner and physical boundaries that are identified by one or more of the following:
- Assessor parcel number (APN)
- Physical street address (SITUS)
- Physical coordinates such as longitude/latitude
- Legal description (recordable at the Recorder’s Office)
- Physical boundaries (parcel boundary, building structure footprint, etc.)
CLIP uses artificial intelligence (AI) to link data records corresponding to a particular property, even if there are inconsistencies in the data records or the physical presence of the property has changed over time (e.g., the property has been subdivided, merged, become inactive, etc.), and/or the data records use different terminology to describe the same thing. By linking data records, despite the challenges described above, CLIP allows a user to accurately retrieve the data associated with a property in a single navigational step.
CLIP is designed to identify all existing U.S. properties— even when they are not yet registered in public tax roll records. While covering all real properties in tax roll, CLIP also provides the advantage of recognizing new properties (e.g. new construction) from non-tax roll sources such as deeds, mortgages, listings or appraisals, before they reach the public record. Once an annual tax roll update is received from the government source, the same CLIP number will be assigned to the “registered” record that has an APN, along with any other preceding records with the same CLIP number to complete the linkage.
Changes
Valuations and reports now include CLIP ID, when available.
User Accounts & API Accounts
User accounts and API accounts are now distinguished from each other. User accounts require a valid email address and password management is handled by users themselves. User ID will now be the user’s email address and will no longer be editable.
