Air Exchanger Unit

A unit that contains two air handling systems: one that continuously draws in outdoor fresh air and distributes it throughout a home and another that collects and exhausts stale indoor air outside. Both the exhaust and outdoor air streams pass through the unit and the heat from the exhaust air is used to preheat the incoming outdoor air while the two air streams remain physically separated. Also known as a heat recovery ventilator.

Included in cost: Heat exchanger unit (heat recovery ventilator), ductwork, drain line, control unit, connection to power supply, and installation labor.
