Furnace, Wood, Outdoor

An outside (exterior to the structure) wood-burning furnace/boiler, that serves as a secondary heat source for a structure. The wood-burning furnace is typically located within 30 to 200 feet of the structure, but could be up to 500 feet away. A water jacket surrounds the firebox and heat exchanger, which heats water circulated to the structure through underground insulated pipes. The outdoor wood furnace will work with water-to-air or water-to-water systems, so heat can be conveyed to existing forced air systems, boiler or water system, and even radiant floor systems. The indoor temperature is controlled by thermostat. This type of system could also provide heat for domestic hot water systems or compliment an existing domestic hot water heating system.

Included in Cost: Stand-alone outdoor wood-burning furnace (complete unit), masonry block foundation, firebox, water jacket, heat exchanger, insulated potable water piping/tubing, connection to existing heating system, and installation labor.
